Position on Park Strip Issue
I am supportive of Logan City’s decision to improve neighborhoods by enforcing existing park strip regulations.
In order to continue to keep Logan's neighborhoods (particularly the older neighborhoods) strong and vibrant, the City needs to enforce zoning laws regarding occupancy, and the other surrounding issues like illegal use of park strips. There has been a vocal minority which has criticized the city and the council; however as I get out in the neighborhoods and speak with homeowners, (who I see as the silent majority) they have been concerned about the physical deterioration of their neighborhood and the resulting devaluation of property values. Many of these homeowners have been asking the City for years to address this problem and are pleased that the City has finally acted.
